Ethiopian Railway Corporation officials participated in training on the study and implementation of a public-private partnership (PPP) development project in Nairobi, Kenya from July 15-20, 2024.
Institutions that provide social and economic services solely puts financial pressures on the government so, its necessary engaging private companies on government-selected sectors that are Capable and experienced in accordance with policy and legal frameworks of the country.
According to the Chief Officer of the Corporation’s Corporate Law Service Ato Kasahun Mulatu, who participated in the training, he expressed the importance of developing new infrastructures through Public Private Partnership (PPP) and using resources, technology and operating experience to make the existing ones effective.
The training organized by the Eastern & Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) in Nairobi, Kenya on July 15-20, 2024 with financial support from the African Development Bank through the Ministry of Finance.
The training organized by the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) was attended by representatives of the Corporation. According to Ato Kasahun, the training is divided into three phases, which include the nature and significance of the government-private partnership project, from identifying projects to implementing them. They include policies and legal frameworks, feasibility studies, and the preparation of bid documents.
