The ownership and administration of government development organizations reviewed the Ethiopian Electric Power and the Ethiopian Land Rail Corporation’s first quarter of the 2017 budget year plan execution.

In the review, the Ethiopian Electricity Power is the growth of electricity supply, the growth of foreign sales and the 2016 fiscal year account being closed and submitted for audit are among the main achievements mentioned. In the last quarter, the production of power exceeded the plan, and the sales of power have shown growth compared to the performance of the same period of last year. Power generation and Power transmission projects have recorded more than 80 percent physical performance from the plan. However, 6,456 gawatt of electricity was produced in the quarter. This is 117 percent of the plan. The quarterly power transmission and distribution works are measured by key performance metrics and their performance is estimated to be 89 percent on average. The power sales are 6,004 gawatt, which is 114 percent of the plan
The Ethiopian Rail Corporation quarterly performance review include the ability to earn better income, setting up a training center, starting work in construction sector and property management activities are encouraging. The corporation has been working hard to implement new projects that can generate income. In the review, Mr. Zinabu Yirga, the representative of the ownership and administration of the governmental development organizations, and Mr. Tigistu Amsalu, the director of the organization’s ownership and administration department, thanked the leaders of the institutions for the contribution they are making to overcome the challenges they were facing with the national goal.
Ethiopian Electric Power and Ethiopian Land Rail Corporation are development companies that are working with key national missions, they are the ones that implement government policy and are the ones that are the basis for the economic building of the country and require a wide investment.
