The Ethiopian Railways Corporation is actively participating in the national Infrastructure & Construction Week at the Addis International Convention Center, held under the theme “Ethiopia Builds: Driving Infrastructure Growth through Innovation, Speed, and Quality.”
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh said that infrastructure serves as the backbone of economic development facilitating the movement of essential resources and underpinning national prosperity. He highlighted the significant progress achieved in recent years across key sectors, including roads, railways, energy, and digital infrastructure, noting that these accomplishments reflect Ethiopia’s development trajectory and future potential.
He emphasized that leading development institutions are fostering a stronger culture of coordination and collaboration in infrastructure delivery, while highlighting the strategic role of railway networks and logistics hubs in enhancing trade efficiency and strengthening both imports and exports. He further reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing transformative initiatives such as corridor development and renewable energy that generate employment and reshape national economy.
Chaltu Sani, Minister of Urban Development and Infrastructure, stated that the Infrastructure and Construction Week serves as a critical platform for assessing national progress and setting strategic directions for the sector’s continued growth.
The exhibition is expected to showcase major development projects, introduce emerging technologies, and strengthen institutional collaboration. As part of its participation, the Ethiopian Railways Corporation is presenting its flagship achievements from recent years, alongside its strategic plans aimed at further advancing Ethiopia’s infrastructure landscape.
